Screening appointments occur in the Cardiology Department which is in the main hospital near Ward B1. Please report to the reception desk at least 15 minutes before your appointment

The hospital main entrance is found by crossing the road at the pelican crossing located by the pedestrian exit to the car park. Follow the covered footpath for about 100m passing the lake and fountain on your right. The main entrance is located at the end of this footpath. From here follow signs for ward B1 and the cardiology department.

By Road: Cardiff is served by the M4 and is easily accessible from all parts of Britain. From the south west, take the M5 and from the south of England, follow major A roads to the M4. From Scotland, the north of England and the Midlands, travel via the M50 to the M4.

From the M4 (East): Follow the M4 into Wales, over the Severn bridge. At junction 29, (A48) leave the Motorway. Follow A48 until the fifth junction, this should be a dedicated slip road onto the University Hospital of Wales site.

From the M4 (West) and A470 (North): Follow M4 (from West) / A470 (from North) until the M4/A470 interchange at Coryton. Follow road signs marked Cardiff City Centre along dual carriageway for approx two miles until you reach a large roundabout. At the roundabout, stay in the left hand lane and aim for the A48 Newport (the Hospital will be signposted here). The entrance onto the hospital site is found on the slip road to the A48.

By Rail: High speed InterCity trains provide frequent services between all major British cities. The Cardiff-London InterCity service, from London Paddington, runs some seventeen times a day, with a journey time of less than two hours. Frequent regional network trains connect Cardiff with: Bristol (50 min), Birmingham (2 hrs 10 min, Southampton (2h 30 min) Manchester (3h) Liverpool (3h) with many other cities and towns.

By Bus: Cardiff Bus 1, 1a, 2, 2a (City Circle); 8, 8a, 9, 9a (Cardiff Bay Area); 86 (Lisvane) and 87 (Llanishen); Travel Coaches - 98 and 99;  Stagecoach Service A and B (Caerphilly); Bebb 22 (Rhiwbina); Shamrock - 304 (Barry) and L3 (Llandough)

By Air: Cardiff International Airport is 11 miles from the city centre.National Express (Enquiries Tel: 08705 808080) and various rail companies (Enquiries tel: 08457 484950) operate direct services to Cardiff Central Station from London's Heathrow and Gatwick airports.
