Screening appointments occur in the Cardiology out-patient department on Level 4 of Phase 1 (The modern building). Please make your way to the reception area on level 4 at least 15 minutes prior to your appointment

By Rail: Glasgow's Central Station is connected with every city in the UK, while Queen Street Station serves central and northern Scotland. For timetable and price details call 0845 484950 or visit the National Rail Enquiries web site. From Glasgow Central Station or Queen Street Station the easiest way to get to the Western Infirmary is to take the short walk to Buchanan Street Station were you can catch the underground train to either Hillhead or Kelvinhall Station, both of which are a few minutes walk from the Western Infirmary.

Local Trains: The nearest suburban rail station is Partick, about 1 mile to the west of the Western Infirmary. It has an interchange with the underground and with bus services on Dumbarton Road.

By Coach:
National Express (08705 808080) coaches run services to Glasgow's Buchanan Bus Station from throughout the UK. From Buchanan Street Station you can take the underground train to either Hillhead or Kelvinhall Station, both of which are a few minutes walk from the Western Infirmary


By Car: Glasgow is at the centre of a first class motorway and truck road network linking with every part of the UK and Ireland, allowing easy access and departure from the City Centre.

By Air: Glasgow is served by two airports - Glasgow International Airport and Prestwick International Airport. Glasgow International Airport is a 15 minute drive from central Glasgow and provides direct access to and from Europe and Northern Ireland. EasyJet have 3 return direct flights per day from Belfast International to Glasgow International Airport. A taxi from the Glasgow International Airport will cost around £16 with a journey time of 15 minutes. From the airport there is also a shuttle bus that runs into the city centre (Buchanan Bus Station), the number 905 which stops at the arrivals building at Glasgow Airport.
